Refers to the type of loose leaf black tea which is made using the traditional method, on rolling tables. Orthodox processing is time consuming, labour intensive, and requires careful attention of an experienced tea maker. Orthodox teas require the finest picked leaves, and affords little margin of error during processing. Orthodox teas are produced to preserve singular virtues of tea leaves. Nepal Orthodox black teas are light, brisk and bright, and steeps with delicate and multi-layered flavour profiles. Orthodox tea is best consumed without the addition of milk.
Refers to the type of granular, black tea which is made using the (CTC) crush, tea, curl process. CTC tea processing is mostly automated, but still requires some attention of an experienced tea maker. CTC teas are more forgiving to manufacture than Orthodox teas, but high quality CTC tea requires the finest picked leaves. These teas are processed to create consistent flavours and appearance. Our CTC black teas are known for its Assam like character. The teas are full bodied, steeps as a deep ruby red color with a rich, slightly bitter flavor. CTC teas are well complemented with milk.
